Abstract Art

I created this page to dedicate my research into an abstract art which is one idea of telling a story of the patterns on a banana skin I came up with.

In exploring in this type of art, I encountered with Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian artist who was considered a pioneer in abstract art. Below are some of his works that I found interesting to use as my visual references.

In a book I borrowed from the school library, Kandinsky: The Language of The Eye by Paul Overy I discovered interesting points as follows,

  • There was a mentioned about colour theory that were known in the 19th century yet also restated by Kandinsky about the warm and cool colours and how it affects the distance in how we perceive it. For example, blue colour will appear further away while yellow colour will appear closer to us. I would like to experiment this idea with my film.
