Presence

Exploring more into the Navigator project, I’ve reached the essence I believe is always what attracts me into understanding more and more about it which is about Presence.

Below is the definition of it from Google search,

Here is the clip from Eckhart Tolle, an author and one of my ‘spiritual’ teachers that talks about how we can keep ourselves from being triggered. There are mentioning about looking at flowers as a mean to become aware of the present moment and I found that related to the work I’m doing for this project somehow.

Here I quoted two sentences of him that is very powerful and thought-provoking.

“You recognise yourself in Nature.”

“Allow nature to teach you stillness.”

I read into an article from UCL about their past event Mindfulness and Art back in 2017 from the internet and got inspired by its content so much. There was a mention of the artist Marina Abramovic and her work “The Artist is Present” which was a performance at the MOMA back in 2010.

There is also this whole paragraph from the site I found inspiring.

“Art has the potential to wake us up from the dream we spend most of our time in. To recommit us to living in the here and now and to make us connect with much deeper, more profound aspects of our experience. As a tool for meditation, it’s hard to beat.”

It strengthens my kind of ‘personal manifesto’ in trying to make use of my artistic journey as a tool to understand life and live it meaningfully.
